Bobby’s Boy by Mark Wilson is about the story of aspiring writer/journalist Tommy (who is actually given the nickname Bobby’s boy as a young child as told to us in flashbacks). Neglected and unhappy at home in Scotland, his world turns upside down when his family is killed in a car crash. He picks up the pieces and falls in love with Cathy, only to leave her for a few years to go on tour with a famous rock band (Rage Against The Machine), and their fictional opening act, Anal Seepage (yeah, I know). But life on the road with a rock band is, well, messy…and complicated. And through the challenges Bobby faces, he also discovers some truths about his family and himself in a very real, and heartbreaking , but poignant way that drew me in from the start and kept me hooked all the way through to the end. A rollercoaster ride of events and emotions I won’t soon forget. Great read…highly recommend!
