The plot for this book sounded terrific and based on the plot alone, it was ok.However, the characterizations were so poorly handled theyruined the book for me.

Most were stick characters with little flesh on their bones. And then there is McAvoy, the protagonist, who was carrying enough baggage for three characters and who behaves like a bull in a china shop. No subtle subversion of the brass for this boy. None of Rebus or Wallendar in this person.

And he claims to adore his wife but is tempted to kiss his sexy boss. How trite is that?
