This book really amazed me. I guessed by the title and cover art (though you should never judge a book by its cover...) that it would be fairy-tale-esque. But it wasn't! It was really a work of historic fiction. I thought it was brilliantly written, and I loved the symbolism and themes even more than I enjoyed them in "Wicked." The two books are hard to compare, but overall, I definitely enjoyed "Confessions" more, so people who weren't thrilled with "Wicked" shouldn't write this one off. It was really a page-turner, enjoyable from cover to cover. :)
