I didn't realize this was juvenile fiction before I started it and I think if I'd known that ahead of time I would have liked it a little better. Interesting story that everyone in my book club had an easy time getting through quickly. The sixteen year old narrator speaks like a forty year old man, which really bothered me. And the ending (or lack thereof) was troublesome to the other women in my book club. It was pretty clear to me that it was a set up for a sequel though. This is a very adventurous story. The last two thirds of the book I kept thinking I should be reading it with my daughter rather than alone. Fantasy fiction is not my preferred genre though.
