Less heavy on the heart wrenching drama than most romance novels, though there is still an element of the use of hackneyed plot devices. Of course, the book is more or less tongue in cheek anyway, so I couldn't expect too much anyway. It was enjoyable and funny.

Joanne I assume this is another Austen spinoff? Will be interested to hear what you think. Most of these Darcy updates are pretty bad, although I really enjoyed Bridget Jones's Diary.

Mindy Well, this one is a romance novel and it's not supposed to be taken seriously. It doesn't even take itself seriously which is why it's tolerable as a fun read. This woman gets a massage in real life where she can imagine herself in her favorite book and ends up in Pride and Prejudice. But she somehow manages to change the story and spends the rest of the book trying to fix it but keeps getting side-tracked by a dark and handsome literary academic who's trying to help her. I haven't finished it yet, but it's a funny, light, quick read so far. It's definitely not going to go down in history as a great piece of literature, though.
