I read the whole book in a day. It was excellent. With all the other things written by other gymnasts about Karolyi I was waiting for Dominque to talk about how he treated her. Both her father and Bela treated her like dirt. He told her parents not to give her any praise and she lived like a prisoner there. He didn't even congratulate her after she won a gold medal because she fell on the vault. Kerri was the hero.

The man that became her husband became her coach years after the Olympics and helped her try to make a comeback but Marta controlled the US team and wouldn't let her back so she was forced to retire at 24.

She found out she had a sister that her parents gave away at birth because she didn't have legs. She and her sister were reunited with her. And she now has two children. It's amazing she made it through everything.
