Matt's review
Atonement: A Novel by Ian McEwan
I received this book from Craig months ago. I tried to read Atonement several times. I read 2 or 3 pages and just couldn't keep up with it. I tried again last week and I finally shifted into his writing. It reminded me of reading Gilead by Marilynne Robinson; I had to change my mode of thinking to fit the prose.
The story is amazing, I felt like I was punched in the belly at certain turning points in the story. I am still a bit dazed with the ending.
