This book attempts to be the A Pattern Language: Towns, Buildings, Construction for spaces that help with creative collaboration. It is a beatifully designed book that easily achieves its purpose. I have taken away dozens of ideas for the spaces that I work and live in and have acquired a new (mental) language to discuss and think about using space to stimulate behaviour.

My one criticism would be that this book is very US (not to say "valley") centric. I can convert the inches to centimeters (although I do believe it is inconsiderate that I have to do this) and I can find my own shops to buy the materials, but I do wonder whether the authors realize that their take on creative collaboration might not be as universal as they seem to think it is.

Great book all in all!
