I can't remember when I've read a book that is more powerful, more emotional. You can't help but become part of this story, caring so deeply about the characters. In addition to the incredible story telling ability of the author, Laura Harrington, the book should make anyone who reads it take a long pause and understand the consequences of war that are impossible to quantify. When those in the military are put in harm's way, it effects more than just the individual, it affects their entire community. The family's life is put on hold.

Reading this book, I really got a sense of how surreal this experience is for those left behind. I laughed and cried. I have such an admiration for the Blisses, the Byrds and finally Henry and his family. Henry's heart is wise beyond his years. For sure, every girl needs a Henry in her life.

Halfway through this book, you will be sitting on the edge of your seat and you won't want to put it down.
