The book was an absolute page turner although not as mind blowing as his previous books esp Daemon. His style in this book reminded me a lot of Michael Crichton and the swarms he describes are similar to what I had imagined for Crichton's Prey.

The story seemed to have been written for a big summer movie adaptation - scientest gal and special ops guy save the world stuff.

While his characterizations have improved and the action sequences are a lot better, I felt he could do with better "editing". Some of the sequence just jumped time and locations which was a bit disorienting. The book leaves a lot of room for a sequel but I feel that he should concentrate more on another concept.
