I have mixed feelings about this book. Disappointing, really.
First of all, the plot; it was a good mystery, if you can call it that since she does find out who the bad guy is fairly early in the book. She is, however, left to find why he's doing it and how to stop him, especially since (view spoiler).
It got confusing at times, trying to keep up with all the new characters that kept appearing, both human and fae, but most of them proved necessary in giving the story and the bad guy depth and a sense of danger, so I didn't mind that much.
I loved what happened between her and Death. Finally there was some progress and it was good. No, I mean good ! He truly loves her and proves so over and over again, he's sweet, kind, funny and looks positively scrumptious. Plus, I've never liked Fallin. When he was his own person (more or less) he was arrogant and annoying. As a slave under the fae Queen, he's even less appealing and even more dangerous for Alex.
That's why I thought the ending was a cop-out: (view spoiler).
Price could have achieved the same level of relationship drama if she kept Death around in the same capacity (view spoiler) AND have Fallin move in at the same time.
Not a fan of love triangles, no siree. Especially since 99% of the love triangles I've read about so far have the heroine pick exactly the guy who's wrong for her.
However, I do so want to read the next book.
