I usually take these kinds of political books with a grain of salt, as each author has his or her agenda in writing, especially as it relates to the polarizing figure of Pres Obama. However...I find it quite refreshing that a NYTimes journalist would write such a virulent critique of Pres Obama. Free of your typical partisan rhetoric, the book focuses its core argument on statements, interviews, etc. from people who know Barack Obama in a variety of settings.

The one problem: the author's critique of Samantha Power as a foreign policy advisor to Pres Obama. I may not agree with all her politics, but I fail to see how she's a problem. The author doesn't really justify the chapter with Power.

In the end, you'll find yourself thinking: wow, we really elected this guy?

Patrice Great review. However, the Power quote was the most frightening and revealing part of the entire book, IMO.
