The Last Guardian (Artemis Fowl, #8)

** spoiler alert **
I went over to the bookstore and read the book as soon as I got my mom's permission. (Sigh. Parents. But that's not the point.)
As usual, Eoin Colfer does not fail to impress. I LOVED the book. Five stars. It makes me sad that this is the last book in the Artemis Fowl series, since it would be amazing to read more of his adventures, but... He's the author, not me.
*SPOILER ALERT*
I can't believe Artemis Fowl! He's a genius - even if he did contract Atlantis Complex (but, hey, we all know it was fun to read about him obsessing over fours and fives) and even if there was that one "predictable" plan of his in this book...but his final plan? Genius. Who would've thought of making a clone of himself, and then putting his soul (spirit, mind, whatever) back into it? And I hadn't even thought about the eye he had that was Holly's. I will miss that guy. But this is DEFINITELY a great read, with an actual plot behind it (unlike the Atlantis Complex; I loved reading about his OCD, but the book itself was just kind of, uh, boring) and a marvelous ending. Slightly sad, but wonderful overall.
Ten points. Five stars. Two thumbs-up. However it's put, this book is one of the best books I've read in quite a while.
