Widow's Might

My " in a nutshell" summary...

Elderly people are dying or being murdered...the lovely red haired Liv is sort of in the midst of all this along with a temptingly attractive agent...Streeter.

My thoughts after reading this book...

I stumbled through the first chapter or two because I didn't realize this was the third in a series but once I got my reading bearings it was sort of easy to keep everything straight.

Liv is a miner...as in mining...and has a past with someone called the Crooked Man.  She ends up with a bloodhound  named Beulah and the FBI recruits her...but she gets to work with Streeter...a potential love interest?

And it's all about finding out who killed these men and why there was an attempt made on Helma's life...wife of one of the murdered men?

And why were funny coins found near everyone who died or almost died?

Ok...honestly...it was a good book...but for me...I needed to read the first two...I felt cheated because I wanted to know more about...well...about everything...I should have read them before I even attempted to read this one...because I loved the characters...especially Liv...loved the setting...loved the plot...it kept getting thicker and thicker.

What I loved...

All of Liv's family...and Beulah...the Bloodhound!  Helma...so sweet at her most difficult time...her relationship with Liv's sister brought tears to my eyes...the surprise intense shocker of an ending?  Awesome!

What I didn't love...

Not reading the first two books...it affected my perception of this one...I needed to know more...my bad...

Final thoughts...

A really good sort of cozy mystery!!!
