This is a great book that really analyzes not only Ike, but the world events he was a part of. It isn't an easy book to read and is long, but I now better understand the events of my childhood, such as the Suez Crisis and the Korean War. Smith gives the reader a thorough picture of Ike with all of his strengths and weaknesses. Some biographers aren't as honest or as objective as I think Mr. Smith is with his subject.
