I hadn't realized this book was unfinished when I started reading it (I skipped the introduction, silly me), and was slightly confused when I started to come across incomplete paragraphs and characters who didn't really make sense. The narrative ends about 3/4's of the way into the book, and the rest of the plot is sketched out using Fitzgerald's notes. That said, it was HIGHLY interesting to read through his notes, and shed much light into how he constructs his novels- plot and characters first, then basic moods for each scene, and then, lots of editing. For Great Gatsby fans and aspiring writers, I would recommend this. But it should not be the first or last book you read by Fitzgerald.
