Created to Worship: God's Invitation to Become Fully Human

Chapter 2 was especially good, but that was predominantly based off of ideas from James K.A. Smith about how worship ought to be more focused on forming the eschatological imagination than offering propositional nuggets (or providing a venue for self-expression, for that matter).
He made several full-bodied arguments from reason, tradition, and experience on the necessity for an elevated attention to planning and execution of corporate worship. At times, I found myself wishing he were preaching to preachers instead of the choir.
As a non-Wesleyan leading worship in a semi-Wesleyan body, I found some of it contextually instructive, and some of it annoyingly Wesleyan. ;)
Over all, I would recommend it and possibly even assign it to students, but there are chapters that can be skipped, and supplemental material would be needed.
