I really enjoyed this book! The main character, Eden, is an actress and recently divorced, unsure of where she wants to go in her career next. Her mother, who died when Eden was very young, was a famous children's book author, but was known as a recluse. Eden gets an idea to go back to where her mother grew up and wrote her books and do research and write a screenplay to tell the "real story" of her life. When she gets there, her uncle gives her personal journals that her mother had been writing since she was 13 years old until she died, which gives Eden and the readers an insight into this complicated woman. There are many secrets that are revealed over the course of the book, many of them through these journals. Eden also finds love, but it's fraught with complications, too. Once I got started, I couldn't put it down.
