I read Me & Emma several years ago so it took me a few pages to remember details. This book could stand alone though - it is not absolutely necessary to have read Me & Emma first.

I thought the chapters from Carrie's perspective were great. The author's "Carrie voice" was believable and heartbreaking. However, the chapters written from Honor's point of view were just too much of a stretch. It was almost as if they were written by a different author, they were so weak. Situations and conversations were unrealistic and kind of jerky, not believable.

In a way, I was happy everything wrapped up nicely. Happy ending for all involved, except those who didn't deserve it. The subject is so heavy and sad that it was a relief to see it all turn out for the best. But it almost worked out TOO well and too quickly. The end sort of took away from the beginning that way as it was so unlikely.

I did read it fairly quickly so it must have held my interest, hence the 3 stars. And like I mentioned, Carrie's voice was strong. But I felt like the plot and the voice of Honor needed some more development.
