really liked it
bookshelves: book-club
Read from July 16 to August 15, 2012

Changing my rating after discussion at book club meeting last night.

Basically I give this a 5 for the story, which is engrossing, and a 3 for the writing, which is OK but nothing special.

For anyone who, like myself, was not all that knowledgable about Muslims and their religion - this book will be an eye-opener.

One of the more interesting things for me to ponder was, "Why Ali? Why did she start down a path of questioning her religion, its way of life; when most Muslim women simply accept and endure?"
