This was a great read! The author drew my attention from page one and she definitely didn't disappoint. The story centers around a teenage girl named Ivy who is attacked by Jake; a boy who she thought was her shy, cute boyfriend. Ivy is rescued by Eric, a boy from her biology class, who tells Ivy that he is a Martis, a heavenly warrior, and Ivy is one too. Eric tells Ivy that their job is to rid the world of Valefars, humans turned into evil immortal beings by drinking demon blood. As if that isn't enough of a shock for Ivy, she quickly finds out from a friend that she is the prophetical Damned One, a person who is both Martis and Valefar who will open the gates of Hell.

The only problems that I had with this book was the fact that Ivy was a little slow to catch on to things, and the fact that she didn't let people in on her secrets and what she was thinking. Ivy seemed like the type of person who kept everything in and did things on her own. I was just waiting for things to come crashing down on her. She was also very oblivious to certain things in the book. I got to a point where I just wanted to say pay attention to your friends, isn't there something fishy about them?

One of my favorite characters in this book was Collin. Oh my, where do I start with him? Collin is Ivy’s best friend, and her high school’s bad boy. Between the two characters there was SO much tension! Their friendship was the type that left me wondering why they weren’t in a couple-like relationship already. I was so rooting for the two of them to finally get together.

I really enjoyed this book and liked how the author didn't waste time getting into the main plot. I felt Demon Kissed was a fast paced easy to read book. This book had quite a bit of a cliffhanger ending that definitely left me wanting more. I wonder how the author will continue the next book in this series and I can’t wait to read it! :D
