The first book in the Honor Harrington series "On Basilisk Station" was an extreamly enjoyable book with fairly good pacing for the most part. Occationally though the plot takes a back seat to the details of things like how a piece of technology works or the history behind the theory how grav drives function in relation to mass vs acceleration. When this happens it is very jarring because you spend several pages removed from the current action/plot before you are thrust right back in. Other that that one flaw, which is the only reason this book is getting 4 stars instead of 5, I really loved this novel and can't wait to read the next one.
