Story of a young British girl during WW2. She is fluent in French, and is thus recruited to become a spy who helped the French Resistance. There really were 39 British women who served the war effort in this way, parachuting into the fields of France at night.

Interesting story, quite a page turner by the end. The author does a good job of describing the palpable fear she deals with, but also how her training kicks in to help her cope.

And full disclosure, I'd rate this book R. Some language and several "adult" scenes.

Great interview of author on Diane Rehm Show if you want to know more.
