I am very interested in this topic, and I am looking forward to finding out what might have happened, but first I have to get past the author's love of sentence fragments. Seriously--what is wrong with sentences that have clauses? Commas are your FRIENDS.

Lauri Ha ha. I LOVE you, you old Grammar Nazi! I am actually really intrigued by the topic of Roanoke, but am thrilled not to have read this book, as I am sure it would have made me seize. Hugs to you!

Briansmom I agree with you. It was HIGHLY ANNOYING to read a book with so many sentence fragments. They don't belong in any book, at all, in my opinion. Only in reviews, texts, etc. LOL.
