This book is one that once you start you will not want to stop reading. Isabel and Winter are a perfect match for each other, though it takes time for them to see this and to accept this. Add into the mix a medling Lady who wants to take Winters' job away from him. So Isabel becomes Winters' tutor. Winter cares for people very deeply, and because of this he has dedicated himself to the children of St Giles, and he means to protect them to the best of his ability. Even is this means acting like a monk and swearing off any dalliances with women or even thinking about marrying. Winter is a very unique character, he might not have all the social polish that the Ladies' Syndicate for the Benefit of the Home for Unfortunate Infants and Foundling Children might want. But Winter had other things on his mind, like protecting the children he cares for. Isabel as a widow has a lot of freedom that other women don't have, but she also has secrets that she keeps in order to protect herself. This book tells a wonderful journey as both Winter and Isabel grow and come together. The challenges that they face are not just because she is a Lady and he is the son of a brewer, but more complicated. Thankfully Winter and Isabel compliment each other and can help one another to be the best that they can possibly be. I really did enjoy this book and I think that you will too.
