I won this book from the goodreads firstreads program. In a lot of ways it was a typical awkward girl goes to elite school and learns about herself and the world "coming of age story". I personally love those books but if you don't than this isn't for you. Penelope is SO AWKWARD but lovable. I'm not entirely sure how someone without rich parents, academic drive, or intense talents made it into Harvard. However, I enjoyed her observations of the strange characters (believe me they are more characters than people) she encounters during her freshman year of college. I also loved the witty dialogue. This is a good summer read, particularly for young women.
