it was amazing
Read from July 31 to August 07, 2012

Just as I decided I couldn’t read one more novel about the Nazi’s in WW II, Those Who Save Us became a page turner for me. It is my book club's choice for this month.
The story revolves around two time periods: the early years of WW II in Weimar, Germany and 1996 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Anna, the mother, and Trudie, her daughter, have stories to tell. Anna’s has never told her daughter about their life during the war.She is too ashamed.
Trudie, a history professor, is working on a project to video tape Germans living in the area. She records their stories of how they as civilians survived the Nazi era.
It was a very powerful book as the author slowly reveals both Anna’s and Trudie’s stories. I found it hard to put down.
