I liked this book so much better than Thoughtless. The writing in Thoughtless was decent, but still improved in Effortless. Kiera was a hell of a lot less annoying in this book. Even though there were still a few curse-worthy moments, I was pretty content with the story and the ending. Actually the ending was very touching, and there were several parts of this book that made me truly laugh.
Even though Thoughtless pissed me off so much, I'm glad that I still gave Effortless a chance. I had many scathing remarks about Kiera in my review for Thoughtless, and although I'm not totally eating crow, I do admit that my feelings towards this particular character have changed. There was barely any progression for her before, but now I see that the author was saving her self-reflection and improvement for this book.
And I still love Denny and Kellan. However, I did get annoyed at both of them at times. Especially Denny. You might know what I mean if you read it. Or maybe I'm just being over-critical.
Anyway, I do recommend this book if you can get through the first one :) I really did like the way this ended, but I still feel like it was open enough for a possible 3rd book in the series...
