I really enjoyed the author's, Aravind Adiga, style of having his anti-hero, Balram, tell his story in a series of correspondance letters to the Chineese Premier pending the Premier's arrival to India in order to learn about Indian Entrepreneurship.

Balram, aka "The White Tiger" (among other aliases,) relates his story of how he was once one of the lowest and most faithful of servant classes, and through a his drive to improve his station in life and souring of his relationship with his master, he becomes a sucessfull businessman by applying many lessons learned while observing how the upper class men in his community bribe, steal and show no mercy in order to succeed.

I felt drawn into the modern day India where we Americans cannot fathom the distance between the lower classes living near open sewers and the upper classes living normal American-style lives.
