really liked it
bookshelves: traditional-literature

This particular version of Cinderella is quite beautiful. I realy enjoyed how the Middle Eastern culture is incorporated into this popular tale.

Debbie Hayes-miller Do you need to understand the culture in order to understand this version of Cinderella? I am wondering if the family and stepsisters would be the same. ?

Cynthia The only reason I was able to follow the customs was because I had some prior knowledge from other books I've read so I guess that's why I appreciated this version so much. It might be a good discussion for younger students about middle eastern customs. For example, "Cinderella" doesn't get seen by the "prince" until they are to be wed.
