This book is very much along the lines of "Bringing Up Bebe" and French Women Don't Get Fat". The author, a Canadian married to a Frenchman, went with her husband and two young daughters to live in France. She admired the way French way of eating, for adults and children alike. She saw that French children ate with their parents, ate exactly the same healthy food, often spent long periods of time eating at family functions without complaint, and only ate at meal-times (no snacking in between). The author decided to try to encourage her children to eat in the same way. It wasn't at all easy, but she succeeded to a large extent, and came up with some guidelines for healthy eating. This is a book I will certainly pass on to my daughter who has a one year old to raise.
