A heart warming story, but could have been better.

Personally, I felt the book could make a great Hollywood movie, but in terms of paperback format it was quite tedious to complete.
The overall story describes the relation between grandfather and grandson along with the latter's dynamic history. 600+ pages is way too much to accommodate such a story.

The beginning went off very well with the bombings and all, but the book soon lost its grip in the middle spending too much time on appeals and one person's personal history.

The only thrill I could find was in the last 100 or so pages in the book, where the final hearings and pleas are held. Grisham has portrayed Sam's final moments very well which makes reading the book to the end worthwhile.

Overall, I feel the book could have been way better.
