I love Torey Hayden's books. They almost always make me cry and feel inspired at the same time.
In a different life I would be a teacher of the disturbed, so I live vicariously through Hayden every time I read one of her stories.

This one is about an elective mute that Hayden does her magic on. She reaches into this child’s screwed up world, and frozen little heart, and touches something. As she always does.

I really believe Hayden makes a difference in a very important way. The world, and education system, needs more of her type.
