Nicolette Antonovich is an average girl who is suddenly noticed by one of her school's BMOC upperclassmen. He up and asks her to his Junior prom totally out of the blue (or so she thinks). She spends days searching for the perfect dress, only to have him cancel at the last minute to go with his recently returned girlfriend. This is the start of Nicolette's dress obsession. She is so attached it stays in her closet (except for those times she puts it on just to feel pretty, to cry or, to get really mad.) The dress (and ok, the BMOC) obsession are blinding her to other totally amazing guys--including her best friends snarky older brother Jared. But with life's other traumas starting to get her down, she's going to need someone to lean on, and maybe Jared's not so bad after all...
This light, quick romance is just that, light and quick. It's not 'great literature' so I won't be recommending it to any adult YA readers, but, man, would I have eaten this up as a teen!
