it was amazing

this is a memoir of a woman whose husband sustained severe brain damage from an accident. it is so interesting, beautifully written, and full of insight, that i actually read it twice. the narrator shows the incredible complexity and depth of her character through a series of essay-type chapters reflecting on her life and their marital relationship before and after the accident. it is not sappy or saccharine. it is a gritty, sometimes humorous and ultimately inspiring account.
