My copy is called "The Great Cake Mystery" but that is apparently a different name for the same book listed here. Precious Ramotswe was a child in grade school when she solved her first mystery. Treats from school lunches were being stolen and eaten, and an overweight boy in the class, who loved to eat, was being blamed. Precious stands up for him and discovers the real culprits. There is a good little mystery story here for 2-4 grade children, plus some facts about Africa and Botswana, and a lesson in withholding judgement in situations before they are resolved. I hope McCall Smith writes more for children.
