The Second Empress: A Novel of Napoleon’s Court – Michelle Moran

A story about Marie-Louise who after Emperor Napoleon divorces Josephine becomes his second wife. This novel follows the time that Marie-Louise is married off to Napoleon until his final exile to Elba. This is a well written story from three separate viewpoints one from Marie- Louise, Pauline (Napoleon’s Sister) and Paul (a favored servant to Pauline). It was a fun and interesting read and I was not able to put it down. It was interesting to see the dynamic portrayed between Napoleon, his sister, and Paul. Though i do prefer her other books to this one not in content but in its smoothness. It was over all a good read and I recommend it to anyone who likes books about Napoleon or Michelle Moran’s other books.
