I'm disappointed to report that this one is my least favorite one out of the Bow Street Runners trilogy. It started off well, I was instantly drawn into the book, but I found the majority of the book to be slow and disoriented, I didn't know where the story was going. From reading the back of the book I thought okay this is a story where he's going to try to buy her love, but after reading the book, the story is not like that at all. The conflict keeping the couple apart didn't seem apparently believable, and for a long time I waited for some big breakthrough to push the storyline to a new level, but it just kinda dragged on and on...The hero however was the best part about the book for me, Nick is just too damn delicious, I loved the fact that he used to be a scoundrel, and still has a devilish quality in him.
