This was a difficult and compelling read. When I got about a third of the way through, I decided to put it aside and read something else. It was pretty intense and I needed a break. But, it wouldn't let ME go. I found I couldn't settle down with my new book. My thoughts kept straying back to Arn, and finally I surrendered and picked the book back up. "Never Fall Down" is not an uplifting story about a young man who never compromised his principles in the face of adversity. But it is a tribute to the human spirit. It is a raw and uncompromising look at a young man's struggle to survive. At the things he did--things that horrified even him. Arn was unbelievably brave to keep putting one foot in front of another day after horrible day. And even braver to share the story.
