I think Little Night is an excellent book as it reveals a story of two different but immediate families caught in a cycle of physical and emotional abuse. When the abuse spikes with one family member the resulting decisions and lies by the other family member hurts her sibling by having her sent to prison for trying to protect her sibling from spousal abouse.

Domestic abuse is poison to the whole family. The spouse is abused and so are the children. It is a living nightmare for each member of the family.

As Clare tries to slowly rebuild her life we find her reaching out to those she has loved and who love her still.

Betrayal in a family is tortuous and heart wrenching. I think Luanne Rice has done a beautiful job describing the pain each member of the family has endured.

I highly recommend this book. Luanne Rise has done it again - she weaves, pain, death, sorrow, betrayal, abondonment, forgiveness and love all in a well written story.
