I read this because I was watching the television adaptation of one of Lynda La Plante's novels and I thought I would try one of her books - however I didn't really enjoy it. There are very few likeable characters, the time frame jumps with no explanation or clarification, and while her novels may be more realistic and speak the policing language more than other authors, after a while I found it boring and hard to keep track of. I gave 2 stars as I felt the main plot was a good enough read but I did not enjoy the rest of the book very much.
