The Storyline…

I am speechless. This book was that good. I was sucked right in from the very beginning. This book was fast paced and a quick read. I finished it in a couple of hours. I loved the idea of falling in a well human and coming out vampire. It was pretty cool and a great idea. The cover looks amazing and beautiful. I loved it! I would have liked to have learned more about the prophecy and the vampire history. It would have made me understand a little more. I wasn’t confused at all but I felt like I was missing something sometimes or that I would have liked something explained a little more.

The Characters…

Axelia or Zee as she’s called in the book was a strong female lead character. She never gave up. She may have wanted to sometimes but she stayed strong. I also liked getting to see her character grow and break out of her shell. She went from not knowing how to fight and weak and scared to brave and wanting to learn how to fight and fighting to survive. I loved her cool powers by the way. I was impressed. I would have liked to have seen her training more. Lucas Lucas Lucas. I couldn’t help but love him. He may have been a jerk at first but you get to see a soft side of him. Sadly though, I felt like I couldn’t connect with him like I wanted to. He just seemed standoffish and I couldn’t connect. The relationship between them was good. I liked seeing it go from hate to something more. I just wish it had progressed more than it ended up. I just didn’t feel that emotion. I loved Lucas’s father though. I’m so heartbroken at what happened to him. He was so nice to Zee and saved her life. He was, I guess, one of my favorite characters.

In Conclusion…

During the whole book I was sitting on the edge of my seat. This book was action packed and full of many surprises. I never saw any of them coming. I was guessing one thing and instead another thing happens. This book definitely keeps you on your toes. The ending was really good and really was a shock. I felt like I should’ve known what was going to happen. The ending was a little open for me but I can’t help but hope for a sequel. If not I would be really dissapointed. I would definitely read more books by Wynne though. Even if it’s not a sequel. Overall this book was amazing and I would reccomend this to my friends.
