** spoiler alert ** Oh God, this book just broke my heart. I mean it shattered into a thousand tiny little pieces. It was like with every word Speed wrote I could feel myself being pulled unwillingly towards the end, much as Roan was pulled towards Paris' end. There was a perfect blend here between the pain and torment of Paris' condition and the mystery of Roan's current case. The difficulty Roan had in separating himself from Paris and his fears for him while dealing with the pressing need for work in order to pay the bills is just one small part of what makes this book so brilliant.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Matt's return, especially seeing as how he had aged since the previous book, and grown up along with it. I think Paris' attempts to set Roan up for after he was gone is just a tiny insight into the heart-break that goes with loving someone with a terminal illness. Sometimes it is easier on the person dying than the loved ones left behind.
