I remember reading all and each story along with my best friend in High School, and we used to comment them afterwards as we both were Poe's fans. My favourites were The Tell-Tale Heart, The Masque of the Red Death and The Pit and the Pendulum. Baroque horror at its best, but other tales were less fascinating to me, like The Oval Portrait or Eleonore. Even so, his writing was positively mesmerizing and his stories do give me the shivers... Pure obsessive and 'black' imagination, it stands non-imitable.
