This is my first experience with Mr. King, perhaps the most prolific author of the century. It was always the fact that he wrote so much that I wanted to read him so little.
With the movie 1408, that all innocently came to an end. A friend lent me this book right after seeing the movie, so that I may read the short story version from which it originated. Just a short story, 30 pages or so.
I did. Then I read the story after that. All of a sudden, something just clicked. Hmmph! I flipped to the beginning and read the Intro. Then the first story...and then I couldn't stop reading until I was finished!
And another thing I didn't know: This man doesn't just write sci-fi/horror/paranormal stories, some of his stories are about more "probable" situations...or at least, more realistic than I had thought.
