Just finished re-reading this...the first time around was in the MAT program. Her observations about competing worldviews among teachers, admin, and parents are particularly interesting to my research as a developing mentor. Her observations about competing cultures at home and at school are even more poignant after having had some teaching experience and seeing first-hand how quickly communication between teachers and parents can break down.
