This is the sort of book that makes me get up and read short passages to my girlfriend at odd hours. It is the kind of book that makes me laugh out loud and wish that it was longer than 280 pages. It is exactly my sort of strange, fucked up post-modern punk-noir cocktail of high weirdness...No, not exacxtly high weirdness - that's more Tim Powers' field (though there are shades of seriously odd and satirically implausible conspiracies).

It's a sort of tour of underground/fringe American pop culture via the pretense of a plot to recover a secret second Constitution written on the skin of an extraterrestrial with 23 invisible amendments. It's a cultural and political satire colored with characters from different communities like NULL (National Union of Lizard Lovers), people who get together and watch Godzilla pastiche bukkake films (macroherpetophiles), or the gay bodybuilders that get off listening to Europop while they inject saline into their scrotums or the bank manag...more
