This is the follow up to Bill Clegg's brutal but amazing drug addiction memoir called "Portrait of the Addict as a young man." This book is more tender, and deals with how Clegg tried to recover, and eventually stayed sober.

I would not recommend reading this book without having read the other one. This is a short, fast read, and the main thing that really makes it work is Clegg's writing style. I really enjoy the way he writes.
