I enjoyed this book overall. I have to say to be fair, that some parts were predictable. Despite knowing (or thinking I knew) what would happen, I still found myself compelled to read it. And I finished it quite quickly, having a hard time putting it down.
When the book opens, we discover that the protagonist has a secret. It is not immediately revealed, and before it was I thought up many theories ranging from mundane to extraordinary. The secret (NO SPOILERS HERE) is not one that I predicted at all. What unfolds after the revelation of the secret makes up the core of the book, and the driving force behind my enthusiasm for reading on.
Side Bar- it is hard to write a review without spoilers for this book!
Sometimes the paths characters chose were really surprising, although the predictable route was more often taken. Despite this, I still wanted to see what would happen when they did what they did, even if I had a feeling they would long before it happened. This is not to say there were no surprise twists and turns to the story, as there were many.
The ending leaves me wanting more. I feel like a great deal has been resolved, but I want to know what happens next, the next day, week, month, year etc. I am hoping there will be a sequel to let us know.
