Two interesting characters, but I was feeling too sad about their lives to continue. Arthur Opp has ended up without anyone in his life: he has these nurturing impulses, followed by deep shameful retreats. Kel Keller has had to grow up too soon because of his mother's alcohol abuse. Good material, and well written, but I don't feel like reading about all that pain and isolation right now.

Minor note: I found the ampersands distracting. If they were meant to convey something about the characters, I didn't get it.
